The Design Competition for Redevelopment of Open Space at Choi Hung Road Playground is co-organised by the Energizing Kowloon East Office (EKEO) and the Architectural Services Department. It aimed to gather creative design ideas to enhance the attractiveness and inclusiveness of the open space, promote diversified development, and inject new vitality into San Po Kong.

The competition received an overwhelming response and the Jury Panel members were impressed by the outstanding quality of the entries. The design works are not only distinctive but also capture the rich history and cultural essence of the San Po Kong district. The participants' boundless creativity and talent have infused the competition with even more energy and vibrancy. The competition concluded successfully with the award presentation ceremony held on 5 August 2023.
